Dinner at "Joe's"

We wanted something a bit less fussy, and more homey for dinner after our long day. We chose Joe's Bar & Grill, which is at the Wailea Tennis club. Joe Gannon is the husband of local celebrity chef Bev Gannon (who owns the Hallimaile General Store). Joe's is reputed to be a bit of a downscale version of her restaurant.

It was a nice place, open air, overlooking the tennis courts. It was rather empty, however, just a few tables filled. The food was okay. We had ribs and meatloaf with barbecue sauce. I was disappointed for a place that serves this kind of food, they had very few beers on tap. The local Maui Brewing company beers are very uninspired (they are distributed by Budweiser on the mainland...I think this makes them not very "micro" brewed)

Overall, we thought Joe's was okay, but a little expensive for what you get. Sorry, no food photos this time.
